A journal of my adventures in learning and growing personally and professionally
July was an ok month for my online play, unfortunately the live play was too much to overcome for the amount of time I was actually able to put in.
I played on Ultimate Bet, Party, and Absolute online during the month.
I also played live at the Hollywood casino in Aurora and one home game tournament.
I didn't keep track of any stats on Ultimate Bet because the hand history recording is too much of a pain in the ass. I know I finished up when I left there for Absolute because those winnings helped me reach that $1k milestone earlier in the month.
At Party I played $0.50/$1 and $1/$2. I had primarily been playing $0.50/$1 since I was on a limited bankroll based off of a $50 bonus I picked up from my friend making his first time deposit via their tell-a-friend promotion. I was able to take that $50 and just about triple it ($149.66) playing 17 sessions (727 hands/11.8 hrs) of $0.50/$1. I made one attempt at $1/$2 with my limited bankroll there and flushed $40 ending up +109.66 on 7/15 which is the last play on Party for the month. At this point I withdrew everything from Party to cover the live play losses.
At Absolute I played just about everything they had starting on 7/13 through 7/29.
+60 @ 5/10, +50 @ 1/2, +22 @ 3/6, -15 @ $0.50/$1, -27 @ $0.25/$0.50, and -51 @ $2/$4. Somehow in all of that I managed +39 not including the bonus release which accounted for enough for me to break even on absolute after the withdrawal to cover my live play losses. All told, I played 1657 hands over 25.77 hours on Absolute. There really wasn't much action there and once I hit the break even/recovery point I cashed out and headed back to Party Poker. The total 'gain' here was +$2 over my initial deposit. This of course does not cover the $114 I had to pull out to cover the live play losses.
My live play cost me about $200 at poker, and another $200 at craps. Not much to say here that I haven't already said previously. Other than the upcoming blogger tourney I don't see too much moving me off of party this month so on that note, we'll close the books on July and look forward to a better August.
For the record, August is off to a good start, I opened my Pacific Poker account yesterday I haven't made my first deposit yet, but when I do, I assume it will get attributed to
Iggy since I used his link to download the client. I did get an email today that they fronted me $10 so I may go see if I can turn that into "millions." Muahahahaha! Party has an anniversary reload bonus of 20% (code
ABS) and I'm up $59 after clearing my bonus from a $100 deposit. I think I'll go toss another $500 in to pick up a full $100 bonus and start working that off as well.
